The fine print
Privacy Policy
How Honcho House handles your personal data, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Last updated 3 November 2026
Who is responsible
Honcho House is operated by Velocity Sports Labs, which controls the personal data collected on this site. Payments are collected on our behalf by Wired Intelligence Ltd through Paystack.
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address, optional phone number, the names on each ticket, and what you ordered.
- When you apply or sign up (fan, vendor, media and creator forms): the details you enter in the form.
- When you vote: your vote and an anonymous device identifier used to stop abuse.
- Automatically: basic technical data such as IP address and browser type, used for security and rate limiting.
We do not receive or store your card or bank details. Paystack handles them under its own privacy policy and PCI DSS certification.
Why we use it
- To process payments, issue tickets, prepare merch and count votes (performing our contract with you).
- To check tickets at the gate and keep events safe (legitimate interests).
- To tell you about changes to an event you bought for (contract).
- To send news on tickets, results and merch drops, only if you tick the box to agree. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Who we share it with
- Paystack and Wired Intelligence Ltd, to take and reconcile payments.
- Resend, which delivers the emails carrying your tickets.
- Our hosting providers (Vercel and Railway), which store data on our behalf. Some of their servers are outside Nigeria; we rely on their contractual safeguards for these transfers.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We never sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for 6 years for tax and accounting. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe. Application details are kept for up to 2 years after the event they relate to, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Contact us on +234 901 538 5379 and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Cookies and local storage
We use only what the site needs to work: your bag, the tickets you've opened on this device, a device identifier for votes, and your session if you sign in. We do not use advertising cookies.
